The course has been designed to increase overall awareness and understanding concerning the implications of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, as well as other recent major disasters, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The course is designed to introduce those taking the course to a wide array of unmet needs and challenges relevant to homeland security and emergency management in a post 9/11, post Katrina world.Offered as part of the Emergency Management certificate program.

Our community music program offers private lessons to students of all ages in the community. Lessons are taught by Auburn faculty and graduate students.

Dr. Christine Schnittka, the author of Teaching STEAM Through Hands-On Crafts: Real-World Maker Lessons for Grades 3-8, will talk about how easy it is to use everyday materials to make useful things, and how teaching kids to make useful things with their hands can provide them with essential skills, help them with creative and critical thinking, and infuse them with the sense of self-reliance, while helping them use science and math to engineer useful technologies.

Photojournalist Kate Medley covers national news in the American South, focused on storytelling and environmental portraiture. In this exhibition, Medley invites viewers to see the people and culinary art of service stations, convenience stores and quick stops located across the South, shining a light on the unexpected community, generosity and creativity found in hidden corners of the U.S.

The Jule invites contemporary artists inspired by nature to research Auburn University's collections to engage with, question and critique John James Audubon’s evolving legacy. Trinidadian artist Rodell Warner reimagines John James Audubon’s writings and selections from the iconic Birds of America series, animating text and visuals to foster new ways of seeing and experiencing history.Warner's digital animations have been exhibited at the Art Gallery of Ontario; Big Medium, Austin, Texas; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei; and the Pérez Art Museum, Miami, Florida. Rodell works between Port of Spain in Trinidad, Kingston in Jamaica, and Boston, Massachusetts.
