- Apr 82:00 PMA Conversation with Dr. Clayborne CarsonDr. Clayborne Carson has devoted his professional life to the study of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the African-American freedom struggle. In 1985, the late Coretta Scott King invited Dr. Carson to direct a long-term project to edit and publish the papers of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Under Carson’s direction, the King Papers Project has produced seven volumes of an ongoing comprehensive edition of The Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr. In 2005, Carson founded the Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute to endow and expand the work of the King Papers Project.
- Apr 82:30 PMScholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) ReceptionThe Biggio Center invites the campus community to a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Reception in recognition of a major milestone for Auburn: the publication of a special, all-Auburn authored issue of Transformative Dialogues, a peer-reviewed journal published by Penn State.Titled "A Blossoming SoTL Culture," this issue is the first of its kind in the journal’s history and represents the largest SoTL-focused project Auburn has ever led. Featuring 25 peer-reviewed articles and 61 faculty, staff and student authors from nearly every college, the issue highlights Auburn’s growing commitment to evidence-based teaching and learning and affirms its position as a leader in academic innovation.This event will celebrate the remarkable achievements of the authors and offer deep gratitude to the department chairs, deans, and university leaders who made this work possible by championing a culture of scholarly teaching. Join us in honoring the individuals and campus-wide support that brought this groundbreaking project to life.

- Apr 9All dayBuilding an Effective Emergency Management ProgramThe course will focus on providing an overview of emergency management functions including working with outside agencies and jurisdictions during the planning, response, recovery and mitigation phases. The course will also focus attention on training and certification resources for emergency management Coordinators/Directors, information sharing, the importance of planning and conducting training courses and exercises, managing requests for outside resources as well as an overview of the role of the emergency manager and emergency management staff during an emergency or disaster.
