- Nov 93:00 PMFaculty/Guest Recital: Duo Flautas FrescasDuo Flautas Frescas will present a program of diverse repertoire by living and contemporary composers. Highlights include their recently commissioned piece "Perfect Storm" by Daniel Dorff, and "Lunette" by Elizabeth Brown, who will deliver their newest commission in early 2025. Featuring pianist Jeremy Samolesky.Duo Flautas Frescas was founded by flutists Julia Barnett and Alina Windell, with the intent of commissioning, performing, and discovering music for two flutes and piano. They have performed at the National Flute Association Conventions in Orlando, FL and San Antonio, TX; as well as the Flute New Music Consortium New Music Festivals in Stony Brook, NY and Omaha, NB; and the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention in Washington DC. Duo FF received an Honorable Mention in the American Prize Instrumental Chamber Ensembles Competition, and in 2023 commissioned and premiered Perfect Storm by Daniel Dorff. Their second commission is an as yet untitled work for two flutes and piano from Elizabeth Brown, to be premiered in Spring 2025. They also premiered Intuition by Samuel Zyman, as commissioning members of the Flute New Music Consortium. Upcoming performances include recitals in San Diego, Atlanta, Montgomery (AL), and Auburn (AL). Duo Flautas Frescas’ performance videos can be viewed on their website or YouTube channel. Dr. Barnett and Dr. Windell have been playing together for 17 years, after meeting as graduate students at the University of Colorado at Boulder.Join us at 6:00PM in the Goodwin Recital Hall (GH125). The goals are to strengthen integration of military-affiliated students to campus life, while creating opportunities to form connections and build relationships within the broader Auburn University community and provide a platform for education and dialogue about the experiences of service members, veterans, and their families.

- Nov 117:00 PMDREAM-Math online informational meetingAuburn University's DREAM-Math master's program is hosting online information meetings to introduce STEM professionals to its fully funded teaching opportunities. The meetings, held on the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m. CST, will outline the program's benefits, including full tuition coverage, living expenses and a $20,000 annual bonus for four years, with a total financial support package of more than $150,000.The DREAM-Math program, a partnership between Auburn University, Tuskegee University, Alabama State University and surrounding school districts, aims to develop, recruit and empower Alabama mathematics teachers. Funded by the National Science Foundation's Noyce Scholarship Program, this initiative seeks STEM degree holders who meet program qualifications to earn a Master of Education in Math Education, leading to teacher certification.Interested individuals can join an informational online meeting and visit the DREAM-Math website for more information. The Department of Curriculum and Teaching and Department of Mathematics and Statistics encourage those considering a teaching career to attend and learn more about this rewarding opportunity. The next cohort begins in mid-May 2025, and the application window is now open.
- Nov 117:00 PMEucharistic ProcessionThe Auburn Catholic Campus Ministry will be hosting our fall Eucharistic Procession. We will begin with Eucharistic Exposition at Langdon Hall and process to four different stops on Auburn's campus. Our procession will include hymns, scripture reflections, and prayer. We will conclude with Eucharistic Benediction back at Langdon Hall. All are invited to join as we adore the Lord's true presence in the most Holy Eucharist.
