On February 12, the Office of International Programs will host Aferdita Krasniqi, outreach and recruitment specialist for the Fulbright Scholars Program, for a series of information sessions about faculty and student opportunities through the U.S. Fulbright Program. Presentations will take place in the Azalea Room at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center, with the faculty session beginning and 11 a.m. and the student session at 1:30 p.m. Sessions are free and open to all.

The Fulbright Program, the United States government’s flagship program of international educational and cultural exchange, offers passionate and accomplished students and scholars in more than 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach, conduct research, exchange ideas and contribute to mutual understanding.

Fulbright Scholars—college and university faculty, administrators, and researchers, as well as artists and professionals—build their skills and connections, gain valuable international insights, and return home to share their experiences with their students and colleagues. Scholars come from and go to all institution types and geographic regions across the United States and around the world. The Fulbright Scholar Program awards more than 1,700 fellowships each year, enabling 800 U.S. scholars to go abroad and 900 visiting scholars to come to the United States.

The Fulbright U.S. Students Program offers unparalleled opportunities in all academic disciplines for graduating college seniors, graduate students and early-career professionals from all backgrounds. Program participants pursue graduate study, conduct research, or teach English abroad. During their grants, Fulbrighters meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things and the way they think.
