The course will also focus attention on training and certification resources for emergency management Coordinators/Directors, information sharing, the importance of planning and conducting training courses and exercises, managing requests for outside resources as well as an overview of the role of the emergency manager and emergency management staff during an emergency or disaster.
- Apr 8All dayEM: Researching, Writing, and Managing Public Assistance Grants for County, Tribal, and State EntitiesThis four-week online intensive course is tailored for emergency management professionals and grant managers in county, tribal, and state entities. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the Public Assistance (PA) grant process, from identifying funding opportunities and understanding eligibility requirements to developing competitive grant applications and managing awarded funds in compliance with federal regulations. By the end of the course, participants will have created a complete PA grant application and conducted mock submissions and compliance audits to prepare for real-world scenarios.Offered as part of the Emergency Management certificate program.
- Apr 88:00 AMA Coach Approach: Increasing Impact with Leadership Engagement (VIRTUAL)This workshop is designed to equip participants with an intuitive coaching model to increase student session outcomes. It will include: - Understanding the distinction of coaching compared to other forms of helping. - Why such a distinction matters (e.g., professional coaching vs ad-hoc) and how it is a unique approach to supporting academic success that continues to gain traction due to positive measurable outcomes - This workshop will equip participants with an intuitive coaching model that can directly and positively impact session and student outcomes. o Based on the Leadership Engagement Model (TM) o Implement Appreciate Inquiry and transition to The Four W's to intuitively coach, even with limited time o Increase clarity on session outcome goals o Help students (and even colleagues) with positive approach o Provide an opportunity to practice and ask questions Participants will be provided with a takeaways worksheet and tool they can implement immediately. There are 2 sessions offered on Apr 8. 8am to noon & noon to 4pm. After you register, you will be contacted to choose a session.
